Being pregnant isn't what it used to be years ago. Technology is more advanced; diets have changed. And the clothing has come a long, long way from the silly little sailor dresses and frilly frocks that moms-to-be were limited to. Today's woman has a new crop of sophisticated and stylish clothing to choose from. So why do so many women still fall into the T-shirts and sweats trap? It's simple. They don't realize the fashions that are available to them, plus they fear they have to forfeit comfort for style. Here, we did a makeover for Amy, an active woman in her seventh month of pregnancy.

Amy's "Pajama Mama" Look

Amy was in her third trimester when she visited us at the studio. While she looked great, we felt we could definitely give her style a boost. As her photo indicates, she spent most of her time running around in sweatpants, sneakers and her husband's fleeces, because comfort was a key factor for her when she got dressed in the morning. Additionally, Amy didn't feel like she was the maternity clothing type — tent-like tops, shapeless shift dresses. Since this was her first pregnancy, she didn't realize that maternity styles had taken a modern turn for the better. See how we took her from pajama mama to oh, baby for a night out on the town with her husband.
