Nelson likes the ease of caring for his current look - he merely combs his hair back - but he's ready for a change. In preparation for his makeover, he grew in his sideburns, and considered a shorter, more updated style. "The fastest way for a man to update and really improve his look is to grow in his sideburns," says Stephen Knoll. Nelson said he was up for both.

Hairstylist Ken cut the top of Nelson's hair to take the weight out of the style and added shape by cutting the hair in shorter layers. He cut points into the hair, rather than cutting the hair straight across, so the style wouldn't have any hard edges.
