Stay-at-home mom Zita, who is 42 and tired of ponytails and chignons, was willing to say goodbye to her long, flat style of yesteryear. Opting for a less severe look, Zita had her brows plucked for the first time and got a layered bob that was long enough to pull back when needed, but had enough sway for a modern and youthful look.

Name: Zita
Age: 42
Occupation: At-home mom

Zita wanted a change, and she got one. Paul Labrecque immediately cut her waist-length hair to above her shoulders and she loved that her hair suddenly moved when she turned her head from side to side. Makeup artist Seven wanted to give her a Cleopatra-inspired makeup look that was sure to inspire Zita during the holidays.

Makeover created by: Paul Labrecque Salon & Spa, New York City.

1

Paul applied a color varnish to Zita's hair for 10 minutes so it would be super shiny, then he added caramel highlights to lift her overall look and play up the layers he will cut into her hair.

2

Paul created a layered, graduated bob for Zita so she would get plenty of movement. She was used to wearing her hair straight and flat, but updated styles are messier and less severe. He kept it long enough so she could pull it back in a ponytail.

3

Using a Paul Labrecque boar-bristle brush for added shine, Paul blow-dried Zita's hair. First he applied Paul Labrecque Volume Spray to her wet hair at the roots. Once the hair was dry, he applied a few drops of Paul Labrecque Replenish to the palms of his hands, then patted it onto her hair as he shaped it. This added shine and took out frizzies.

Zita usually doesn't wear much makeup, but she wanted some dress-up tips for the holidays. Seven selected natural, warm tones and decided to accentuate Zita's eyes. First she lined her eyes with black eyeliner pencil along the top and bottom lashes; then she applied a gold, shimmery shadow.
