As a busy teacher and real estate agent, 55-year-old Tillie was looking for a polished look to build her confidence, but that was easy to maintain. See how a softer, layered cut - enhanced with warmer hair color and less makeup - transformed her.
Name: Tillie
Age: 55
Occupation: Real estate sales and teacher
Paul Labrecque thought a more layered cut would take the weight of Tillie'ss hairstyle away from her face and also enhance her naturally wavy hair. "A severe cut is aging to the face," he says. "When you're over 50, you want a softer, layered cut which can be very feminine."
Makeover created by: Paul Labrecque Salon & Spa, New York City.
Paul kept the base color of Tillie's hair medium brown, but added warm red and gold tones, which will put more focus on the layers he will cut, as well as on her natural wave. Here, he's bleaching her brows, to soften and even the color of her brow hairs.
Paul cuts layers into Tillie's hair so her new style will have added texture and body. Tillie says she loves the look and feel of the shorter hair already.
For a mature face, makeup artist Seven always chooses light colors, "Nothing dark." She trimmed Tillie's brows to give them extra shape. Then she applied Shu Uemura Nobara foundation. She used a brush to help distribute the makeup evenly.
Seven lined Tillie's lips using Pretty Pretty lip liner. She finished her lips with Pretty Pretty gooey lip gloss in Carrie Nations.
