Despite what many women think, looking great and feeling comfortable in clothing aren't mutually exclusive. Yet plenty of people still wince their way through the day in insufferable ensembles or look like they just rolled out of bed because they don't realize they can have the best of both worlds. Finding styles that flatter your figure is one part of the equation, and knowing how to accessorize properly is another. The last part? Taking advantage of the different fabrics and silhouettes out there that feel good on. Here, we did a fashion makeover for Amy, who often crossed the line between feeling comfortable and looking messy.

Amy's Messy Look

Amy, 35, came to us in desperate need of a makeover. Her career as a chef required her to wear uncomplicated clothing, and since she wore a chef's coat every day, it didn't make much difference what she wore under it. Additionally, Amy was curvy and wanted to avoid wearing anything too restrictive. She was at the point where she practically wore pajamas to work and on the weekends. And then the inevitable happened. She was invited to an event that called for her to dress in something other than sweats and a tee. What was she to do? See how we took her from messy to dressy in an easy-to-wear way.
