Amrita had a tendency to wear shoes that resembled those of a crossing guard. They had thick soles and wide heels, and there was nothing stylish about them. Switching her into a vampy stiletto would not have been an appropriate change for her, so we compromised with an elegant kitten heel sandal. We wanted her to be able to wear them again, and this style would lend itself beautifully to the otherwise snooze-inducing suits that she had in her wardrobe. The small heel also showed off her slim ankles without drawing too much attention to her feet the way a chunky heel would.
