Eschew symmetry ‑- it's anti-punk, and therefore anti-goth. If one eye looks a little wider and larger than the other, all the better.
Apply a foundation that's a shade or three lighter than your complexion, or better yet, don't sleep more than three hours a night, drink gallons of coffee and skip foundation altogether. The results will be astonishingly similar.
Apply matte magenta, purple, dark blue or black lipstick to the entire lip area.
Outline the lips in a deeper purple or black.
Specks of glitter may be applied to the face, but those who dare to go goth beware: Don't let the little flecks get too close to the eyes. Those minute buggers can get lodged in the eye socket and be quite painful.
