Many women who spend their workdays in a uniform, say they lose their personal style. They say when they wear little or no makeup at work, they often stay that way after hours. Or when they go out, their makeup routine tends to be outdated and repetitive. If you are stuck in a makeup rut, and your style is being held hostage by your uniform, here's how to break free.

First, Identify Your Personality

Before you begin your quest for your personal style, you need to identify who you are. Ask yourself, "What do I love most about my personality? What do I like most about my look?" Then, apply that to your style. Are you fun and flirty? Do you like to go for drama and glamour? Or is natural more your style? By assessing your lifestyle, your likes and dislikes, and your style needs, you will be able to easily build your makeup look. Here are three easy-to-translate makeup looks for three distinct personalities.

If You Are Romantic, Flirty and Fun!

A soft, pretty and feminine look with lots of sex appeal starts with glowing skin. Mix a dab of lotion with your foundation for radiant skin. Try the Revlon SkinLights Luminizing Lotion in Fair or Peach.

  • This looks calls for flushed cheeks, so let that be your focus area for color. I love multiuse products, and my secret for a natural blush is to substitute a deep-colored lip gloss for your blush. Apply this sparingly on your cheeks. Use the Global Goddess Lip Veil in Cardamom.
  • Keep your eye color light. A simple sweep of a champagne-color eye shadow over your lids is all you need. I recommend Bobbi Brown eye shadows.

  • Concentrate on your lashes. This look is all about full and flirty lashes. First, curl your lashes with a good eyelash curler, like the one from Shu Uemura. Then follow with two coats of really dark black mascara, like the Global Goddess Exotic Eyes Blackest Black.
  • Finish your look with a dusting of shimmer powder on your cheekbones, collarbones and shoulders.
