When iVillage and the Today show invited newly single women to tell us why they deserved a makeover, we were flooded with hundreds of truly worthy stories. However, it was 50-year-old Donna McDonald who really caught our attention. After her husband died in an accident, this mother of four grown children was slowly putting her life back together. She moved to a farm in Virginia and went back to working full-time. With lots of encouragement from her kids, Donna was finally ready to get out there and start dating again.
At 50, it isn't so easy to jump back into the dating scene, and a new look was just what Donna needed to feel confident again. As her daughter said, "My mom is such a giving person. She does so much for everyone around her, and she's been through so much. For once she really deserves to have something nice for herself."
