Celebrity makeup artist Shalini Vadhera cannot remember a time when she wasn't fascinated by the world of beauty. And this fascination has always reached far beyond her home.
As a first-generation Indian-American, Vadhera is no stranger to trips around the globe, with new cultures and histories constantly on her horizon. This international exposure sparked an interest in the beauty techniques of various cultures, and the seed of her lifework was planted.
A self-professed beauty junkie and a celebrity makeup artist by trade, Vadhera knew she had uncovered something that every woman should know: Beauty can be found everywhere. She wanted to bring the fruits of her travels — pearls of beauty wisdom and discoveries of exotic ingredients — to women everywhere.
Thus Global Goddess Beauty was born — the skin-care and makeup line that helps create awareness of different cultures and countries and all the great beauty secrets they have to offer. With exciting and unique ingredients, combined with fascinating time-tested techniques from generations of women around the globe, Global Goddess Beauty brings the entire world to every woman's doorstep.
While completing a degree in international business, Vadhera worked as a makeup artist on such shows as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Bold and the Beautiful, and Dancing with the Stars.
She has also appeared as a celebrity beauty expert on many shows, most recently as the author of Passport to Beauty on The View and as Hollywood's leading makeup artist on Entertainment Tonight's "Celebrity Weddings Unveiled".
A skilled speaker, she was the Revlon spokesperson for the 2004 Academy Awards, the Olay spokesperson for their Clarity launch, and the 2006 ChapStick spokesperson for their makeunder campaign.
Vadhera also boasts a lengthy client list that includes Alec Baldwin, Brooke Burke, Cybil Shepherd, Simon Cowell, Tyson Beckford, Ty Pennington. She was recently named "Best Beauty Expert" by San Diego magazine.
Vadhera's book Passport to Beauty-Secrets and Tips from Around the World for Becoming a Global Goddess was published by St. Martin's Press in May 2006 and hit number one on Health and Beauty lists. She also recently launched her makeup line Global Goddess Beauty in retail stores worldwide.
