It's fun partaking of the latest makeup trends — a little tweak here, a dash of new color there, and we virtually reinvent ourselves. But it can be tricky figuring out how to translate the season's newest makeup looks for work. Here, we have some outstanding proposals. The thing to remember, says makeup artist Deborah Grayson, is to not mix and match too many makeup trends and to use a light touch with color. "It's all about modifying with layers," she says. "If you want to wear a dense or vivid tone, apply a sheer layer for work; after-hours, you can layer on more of the same." Another tip: Look for makeup trends that are already work-friendly — for example, nude shades for lips and eyes are hot now. Whether you go nude, bright or even a touch goth, here are six products that will deliver for work — and after!

Benefit Benetint Pocket Pal

A clear, flushed cheek and mouth set against paler skin is all the rage this season. Consequently, we recommend Benefit's hip little Pocket Pal. The liquid rosy color imparts such an organic-looking stain that it appears just slightly deeper than your natural lip shade. But it becomes more vivid as you layer it. The fact that it's made to be used for cheeks and lips makes us multitasking girls so happy. The clincher — it comes with its own pocket protector!
